An IP address (Internet Protocol address) is a unique address that devices use in order to identify and communicate with each other on a computer network utilizing the Internet Protocol standard (IP). In more simple terms, a computer address.
1]IP ADDRESS VERIFICATION
If you have suspicious about a user and think there are not from where they check their email headers to get their ipaddress. This will only tell you the country and city the user is located in. Please note this method is not fool proof.
Once you have got their ip address you can visit the sites below to check and see where they are located.

Wow...I have been communicating with a man on othersite.com I THOUGHT was living in No CA, was a petrochemical engineer, German, recently a new US citizen. He was VERY nice, romantic, responsive. He said he had a contract to go to Nigeria, that he was an oil prospector. Then we were to meet, but he said that he had meetings with high level officials from that country and we would determine if I could come to meet him after his meeting. Well, the next day, it seems he had to leave suddenly for Nigeria, to "meet with the Minister of Finance" regarding the job. He called me on his cell to tell me, but it was really hard to hear. So... then he was supposedly there, contacted me on Yahoo chat (his preferred way of talking) and he said he was hoping to make it back to see me this weekend -- here in LA area. I would pick him up at the airport, etc. Well he called me this morning -- asked me to get on the IM chat -- and says he didn't bring along enough money for his CAF, some sort of certificate for foreigners to work there - might not be able to make it back tomorrow. So I asked him why he didn't pay with a credit card. He said he always deals in cash. He said he had contacted his bank, BofA and was waiting to hear if they could send money to him. Some slight red flags started waving in front of my face. So I wrote him an email asking if he might just use his ATM card from BofA for whatever expenses. I haven't heard back yet, but in the meantime, I went looking around to see about scammers and what were the newest ones. And I found this IP search here, thought I would try and see. So I went to Outlook, found out from Microsoft how to find an IP address. I put in the various IP addresses from an email he had send while supposedly in this country... The last one came from -- you guessed it -- NIGERIA!! Address is 82.128.18.173 Now I don't know really what to do. I have a phone number for him there - supposedly a hotel. I just wanted to also say that I am a smart, relatively sophisticated woman and I have traveled, know the ways of the world pretty well -- but if this is true, it is really throwing me for a loop. I guess we can all get taken in, huh?
