LETTERS FROM SCAMMED USER EXPLAINING HOW HE GOT SCAMMED
Well, I like to think of it that I was scammed by the very best. It all started by posting my profile on otherdatingwebiste.com. I had been on otherdatingwebiste.com for about 6 months with no real connections and so any attention at all was welcome. I�m not sure how she was able to contact me but she claimed that she did not have an account through otherdatingwebiste.com but she was still able to send me a message through the site. Later I theorized that women are treated differently on dating sites and allowed to have access for free for a certain amount of time. I can�t prove that though.
So I answered her letter. I�ve never been contacted by someone claiming to be from Russia and so I excused her bad grammar, terrible spelling and awkward phrasing as a matter of course. She had a charm, elegance through it though. She claimed to work in Voronev as a doctor which is south of Moscow. For about a month and a half we had correspondence. I believe the one thing that convinced me that she was for real was how long our correspondence continued and that she responded to things I would write and questions I had.
Later she claimed that the Ministry of Health was offering her a chance through a medical doctor exchange program in which she would come to the US to live and work for a certain amount of time. She claimed they would pay her and she would be a kind of intern. After three months she would have the chance to live in the US and practice. So she wrote letters talking about how excited she was to come to America and had many questions about what it was like here.
Her letters continued until she claimed that she was now in Moscow and that there was a problem with the arrangements. She needed a sponsor to giver her around $950 for the flight. I sent $100 more because I thought I was being generous. She claimed that she was confused about the plans and claimed to be very upset that she was now in this predicament. She asked me to give her the money and promised to pay me when she arrived. I sent the money through a wire service. I felt compelled to do it and yet deep inside I knew I was being had. After she had the money she asked for more and I refused until I was able to speak to the manager she claimed to be working with.
Through all of this she of course wrote to me as a love interest. She claimed to feel romance and love for me and yet to make that seem more real she wrote about the practicality of the two of us having a relationship and that it might not work. She understood that we may not be right for each other and depending on a romantic relationship was not the priority.
It was enough to get me and use my loneliness against me. Since my contact with her I�ve been contacted by three other scammers all trying to get my attention. None of them were as good as Ekaterina. I saw through each one of them and told them I�d already been scammed by the best.
I contacted the Russian Embassy in Washington DC after I�d already given her my money. They told me that Russian email scams were sadly common. They gave me warnings that I should�ve heeded before but they couldn�t help me find this woman. I tried to reach the Ministry of Health in Moscow but I failed and gave up. It was then that I contacted the Russian Lawyer.

This person Ekaterina Rumyantseva fraudulently received from me $990 dollars USA, and I ask you to prosecute her for fraud according to the law of the Russian Federation and recover the money I sent to this person.
The details of my story are as following:
On the dates listed below I received emails from a Russian woman named Ekaterina Rumyantseva. Our correspondence was romantic in nature and was started when she claimed she found my profile on a Dating website called OTHERDATINGWEBSITE.com.
Dates of her email correspondence are Thu 4/21/2005 9:52 AM, Sun 4/24/2005 10:41 PM, Sat 4/30/2005 5:29 PM, Thu 5/5/2005 3:26 AM, Wednesday 5/11/2005 1:45 AM, Sat 5/14/2005 2:59 PM, Monday 05/30/2005 10:37 PM, Tue 5/31/2005 10:02 PM, Tue 6/7/2005 3:53 PM, Thu 6/16/2005 6:25 PM, Sat 6/18/2005 1:44 PM and Wed 6/22/2005 1:06 AM.
Ekaterina first contacted me under the name Snezka and had an email address of podsnezka@yahoo.com. She also used Kat or Katya. She sent me 10 photos, two of which appeared to be a passport and a work visa. I still have these on file.
Ekaterina Rumyantseva claimed to work in the medical field and claimed to be a part of an educational exchange program for medical doctors to send Russian doctors to the US. She claimed to be conntected to a Andrey Yaremchuk and wanted me to send money to ALFA BANK REVOLYUTSII PROSPEKT 38 VORONEZH, 394000. She claimed to need a sponsor to send money for travel expenses. I sent $990.00 through Western Union MTCN: 9053359988 on 06/16/2005. Her final email to me requested an additional $500 on 06/22/2005.
Through these email exchanges she vaguely described the medical work that she did (05/11/05), how excited she was to meet me and how much she cared about me. She claimed to be very close to an Uncle, she never knew her father and her mother died from a bomb blast in Chechnya (letter 04/30/05) working as a medical doctor. The emails continued to be romantic, hopeful and friendly. She generally described how much money she made, her social events with friends and her dreams of coming to America.
I was defrauded and victimized by a person who preyed upon my loneliness and romantic sensibilities. Not only did they convince me to give them a significant amount of money but I am now left with the anger of being taken advantage of, and the shame for believing and hoping in romance and friendship.
Ekaterina Rumyantseva carefully and elaborately created a fantasy of a foreign, exotic, and educated woman who wanted to know me and have a romantic relationship with me. She sent me numerous pictures and believable copies of legal identification documents along with what seemed to be reasonable descriptions of herself, her dreams and daily life.
I therefore request to prosecute Ekaterina Rumyantseva for fraud according to the law of the Russian Federation and recover the money that I sent to this person. I consider the financial damage made to me as substantial. I also file for emotional, or moral, damage. I confirm the legitimacy of the documents that are attached with this letter. I am ready to assist the investigation in any way they need me to assist. I am submitting this application as an official statement and request to prosecute the criminal or criminal group hiding behind this fraud operation.
Including with this application:
1. Letters that I received from Ekaterina Rumyantseva (save the letters as email messages - .eml format, and print them from a text editor [such as Word] - it will save all header information, including IP address, email address etc).
2. (NUMBER OF COPIES) copies of Western Union receipt(s) for the total amount of 1058 dollars USA.

LETTER ONE
Hello Charles.
I didn't write you for a while. I am sorry. I know I had to think about you and just write you a short note earlier. I had something I
had must solve before I write you anything. I know you worry for me. As you see from the subject of my letter things doesn't smile at me. I
am sad and confused. I don't want to tell it to you. I know you want to meet me. But I will be unable to come to the US by my own. I need a
sponsor to pay my travel.
Charles I want to explain you the whole situation. In my last letter I told you I would have a talking with Andrey about
funding my travel by trade union. I met him and he said that our trade union will not pay my travel. I asked why and how it may be? They
carry out this exchange programm without funding it? He said it is not right. Our government arranges traveling papers, visas, contract with
American government. They also pay salary and supply place for living for american doctors that will come to work to Russia. Travel expenses
must be covered from local hospital budget or our trade union. My hospital refused to pay travelling and trade union can't pay for it
too because Moscow didn't send money. Andrey said it is because of the non-coordination of our government.
I asked him what I can do? He said I can pay my travel by my own or find a sponsor. I asked who will pay me the salary for work in the US?
He said when I will come to New York, we will contract with American government and they will supply the appartment and the salary for us.
Well, I asked him how much I must pay. When he said the sum I was very confused. It is $950 USD. I knew I didn't have such sum and I even
can't borrow it from someone here. Andrey was very sorry for me. He said such things happen often. The government carry out some programm
and doesn't fund it.
After that talking I went to bank trying to get loan. But when they leant I am coming to the USA they refused to me. I talked to my
friends trying to find money but I knew they didn't have such sum. This is my salary for 8 months. I tryed to ask for sponsorship in some
commercial companies but they don't want to deal with me because they don't see any profit.
Andrey said I need to find a private sponsor and I thought about you.
Charles I didn't want to ask you for any help. I wanted to do everything by my own. But I don't have any other options. Andrey said
my plane is on June 20, 2005.
I must be in Moscow with money by this time. I will fly to New York if I have money and I won't fly in other cases. I have not enough time to
find money here and I want to ask you to be my sponsor.
Charles I understand everything you may think about me. I hate asking people for money and I always try to do everything by my own. But now
I really need your financial assistance. I estimated everything. I will reimburse you this sum in one month. I also can pay you extra
money back. I will work in your state for sure. I don't know what clinic. They will tell it in New York. I will earn at least $3000 for
a month and I will have a place to live. You see I will be able to return you the money.
Charles you are the only man I know in the USA. I don't want to mix our relationship and money. But I don't have anyone else to ask for
this help. I know if things even will not work out between us we will stay good friends.
I don't want to lie you and say that I lov you. I can't say it to the man I have never met. But you must know that I have the warmest
feelings for you and I want to develop them. You know what this travel means for me. It is my only chance to come to America and start new
life. It also maybe new life start for you... or for us. I am honest woman and I honestly tell you that I will never hurt you or cheat you.
I will be there for ten months. This is more than enough to make a decision about us.
Charles I have already told you about my plans for future. I want to come to the USA, earn some money to start my own business and find
good man to love each other and enjoy our life together. I think I have already found this man... Smile. YOU. When I heard from Andrey
that my future ruined I was so stressed and confused. I don't want to give it up. I still have my hope. You are this strong man that can
help me.

LETTER TWO
Hi Charles.
I received your letter and it gave me good hope. Thank you very much. I am so happy. You are saving my future. Smile. I knew you are the man
I can rely on. I appreciate your willing to help highly. I will pay money back to you in any case. This is my wish.
Charles you said you can buy the ticket for me. I am sorry it would be useless for me. See Andrey explained me everything. Our travel is
organized by the government. They reserved the special flight for us and it must have been funded by local hospitals. There would be about
30 doctors that will fly to the USA for this exchange programm.
This $950 is not the payment for flight only. It includes my residence and food in Moscow for two days, airfare and residence in New York and
transportation to final hospital where I will stay for work. You can't just buy the ticket for me because I will need additional money for
other things. I must pay them here in cash to fly to the USA with other doctors. I can't fly separately.
I consulted with Andrey about how you can get the money to me. He said we have short time so we must do it quickly. He advised me that we
should use western union. Did you hear about it? He said they have many agents everywhere in the world. I will be unable to receive your
money. Andrey said this is big sum and I will have to take tax return. It takes much time and I may not have enough time before my flight.
If I won't do it I may have some juridical problems and it may cause problems with customs and my visa. I even might be unable to fly.
Andrey wants to help me. He can receive your money for me. He used to receive transfers from overseas through western union for our trade
union and that works really good.

Charles they really made me so busy with this travel. I have already passed all my papers to new doctor. He is a man and he tryed to flirt
with me. Smile. Don't worry, he is not to my taste. I said him I am leaving to the USA to date my man. Smile. It was worth seeing how much
he was surprised.
Last two days I was in Voronezh in medical centre. I met two other doctors there. They are in this programm too. Nice girls, Natalia and
Veronica, about my age. I am sure you will like them. They work in Voronezh in very well clinic and their travel is fully paid. I told
them about my situation and you. They are happy I have you to help me. We decided to hold together and come to your state for work. Smile.
First day in Voronezh we had medical inspection and differnet tests and analysis. I hadn't got full medical examination for a long time
before and I was a little nervous. Fortunately everything is good. I am completely healthy.
Next day we spent at studies. We had 4 lectures in one day. The first one was English language. The full professor from the Voronezh
University teached us to speak English. It was like consultation about using medical terminology in English. They want us to talk correctly
with our colleagues in the USA. Then we had the lecture about the psychology of relations and intercourse. We must be tactful
professionally. And two lectures about new methods in medicine that used in the USA. It was very difficult part of the studies. America
are ahead of Russia in medical equipment and methods. I returned home the late evening. It was really intersting to know all these new
things and I still have a lot of information I must read and lean before my travel.
They said us that we must be in Moscow two days before the flight. All doctors will come there. We will get hard training with the best
professionals in Russia. Charles I will communicate with the people that I saw on TV and read in the periodical. I can't believe it. They
are well-known doctors and I am just a doctor from province. It is really stirring events for me. Smile.
Charles I am really happy that is happening with me. I feel myself so lucky to find you. And I am very grateful to you for your help. I like
you Charles and I am sure we will like each other when we meet. I know there are some things like phisical attraction and so on. But I
have already strong excitement thinking of you and I feel an attraction to you.

LETTER THREE
Hi Charles.
Thank you for money. I have already received them. Everything is OK
with it. I am so happy and excited.
I will leave so soon. I even didn't notice how fast it all happened. I have learned some information about my travel. After we will come to
New York city, New York we will stay there for two or three days. Special bus will meet us at airport and we will come to residential
suburb of New York. They have some centre there.
They will train us with language and medical methods there. There will be american doctors from the clinics where we will work. They will
teach us for certain specialization and organize small groups. We will sign agreements about our labour contracts and will come to different
places. Natalia and Veronica will come with me. By that time I would know the certain clinic and the date when I come to you. I'll let you
know.
I will try to call you as soon as we get to New York. I would also try to call you from Moscow if I will be able to.

LETTER FOUR
Hi my precious.
I am really glad you are in my life. Smile. Thank you for your help very much. I don't know what I did without your help.
Charles I know this letter make you a little sad. Our plans were changed. Don't be nervous. I am coming to the USA but they made it
more problematical. I will explain now.
I am still in Moscow now. The day before the flight our programm coordinator convened general meeting and said that our flight date was
changed. Everyone was amazed with it. He made long speech about problems they have with American government.
I will try to tell you everything I was able to understand. As always the problem is money. He said that everyone of us must have at least
$500 in cash for customs agents. The coordinator said they were unable to arrange this with American side. American customs requires that
every foreigner coming to the USA has minimal sum of money. I must have money declaration and this money in cash. It is required to prove
that I have the money for food, transport and hotel when I come to the USA.
I know it seems so silly but the problem is that we are coming there without contracts with our employers. We will contract when we come to
New York. The problem also is that we will get our first salary after two weeks of work and they must be sure we will be able to buy food
and pay other expenses until that time. American government don't do any exclusions for us and they require money declaration from us.
Our coordinator was very sorry. He said last year employers' representatives from America came to Moscow and contract here. But
this year they want to do it in New York to avoid additional expenses.
Well now you know everything. They gave us 5 days to declare the money. I don't know what to say else Charles. I must fly by any
means. Our plane is reserved and they won't return money I have payed.
Can you send me this sum, Charles? I will not spend a penny from this sum and I will return it to you as soon as we meet. They said they
will not let anyone to get on the plane without this declaration and money. They don't want to have any juridical problems and hearing in
the USA. Charles I must have this sum before my flight.
I know you did much for me but I can't get any money here. Please help me somehow. I will reimbuse everything to you. I give you my word!
Send money to Moscow as soon as possible. Charles I must fly by any means and I will do everything to be there.
My days here was so busy and I didn't have even a free minute. We have great lectures with the best doctors in Russia. It was such huge
experience for me to communicate with these people. They made us really proud to present Russia in the USA. I have just realized what
great responsibility lies with us. American doctors would appreciate Russian medicine by our work.
I am not afraid to have this responsibility. I consider myself very responsible person and I am very happy to do it. And I must say thank
you to you again for this chance.
